Denove — Interval Timer

One more round.
A little help.

From your first interval to your next workout. Find answers for Denove on iPhone and Apple Watch.

Getting started

How do I start my first workout?

On iPhone, tap the large Quick Start button. Set your work time, rest time and number of rounds, then tap Start workout. Add preparation or cooldown if you want time before or after your intervals.

Quick Start and one saved routine are free to use repeatedly.

How do I save a routine?

Use the add button in Workouts to create a routine. Give it a name, set your exercises and rounds, check the preview, then save. You can edit and reuse your free saved routine. The one-time unlock allows unlimited saved routines.

Which devices does Denove support?

Denove supports iPhone with iOS 26 or later and Apple Watch with watchOS 11 or later. It does not require a Denove account.

Sound &
background

Why does the timer pause when I lock my iPhone?

Background workouts require permission to save workouts to Apple Health. In Denove, open Settings → Screen-off workouts and enable background workouts. If access was previously denied, change Denove’s workout permission in the Health app.

Without Health access, keep Denove visible. Foreground-only workouts pause when you lock iPhone or switch apps.

Why can’t I hear workout cues?
  1. Open Denove Settings and turn Sound on.
  2. Use Preview cues and adjust the audio volume.
  3. Check the audio output in Control Center. Cues may be going to connected headphones or a speaker.

For locked-screen iPhone cues, also enable background workouts. iPhone vibration is not guaranteed while locked; use Apple Watch for wrist haptics.

Can I listen to music during a workout?

Yes. Start your music, then open Denove. Lower music during cues reduces music volume during Denove’s cues and restores it between them. You can turn this setting off to keep music at its normal level.

Apple Watch

Can I work out without my iPhone nearby?

Yes. First save a routine on iPhone and confirm it appears in Denove’s Watch library. Once saved on Watch, it can run independently, including when your iPhone is powered off. Allow Denove’s requested Health permission on Watch for background workouts.

How do I control an iPhone workout from Watch?

Start the workout on iPhone and keep your devices connected. On Watch, open Denove and choose iPhone workout, or tap Denove’s Live Activity in Smart Stack. Use Pause, Resume, Skip or End; ending requires confirmation.

The workout runs on the device where you started it. If Watch disconnects, reconnect before using remote controls.

Why isn’t my Watch workout in iPhone History yet?

Finished Watch workouts transfer when your paired devices reconnect. Bring them close together, enable connectivity and open Denove on both. Apple Health and Denove History are separate stores, so an entry may appear in one before the other.

Why does Denove reappear when I raise my wrist?

watchOS may return to an active workout when you raise your wrist. A paused workout is still an active workout session. End it when you are finished; Denove also ends a forgotten Watch pause after 15 minutes, with the break countdown shown on screen.

Your Watch’s Return to Clock settings can also affect which app appears.

Purchases & data

What does the one-time purchase unlock?

Unlimited saved routines on iPhone and your paired Apple Watch. Quick Start and one saved routine remain free and reusable. There is no subscription. The purchase screen displays the current price for your App Store region.

How do I restore my purchase?

Use the Apple Account that made the purchase, then open Denove on iPhone and choose Settings → Restore purchases. Keep Watch connected while its entitlement updates.

If the upgrade is temporarily unavailable, check your internet connection and try again. Free features remain available.

How can I back up or delete my data?

In Settings, Export backup saves your routines, history and preferences to a file you control. Restore backup replaces local data, so export first if you want to keep your current library.

Delete local history removes History from the current device. Health records, copies on another device and exported backups are managed separately. Read the privacy policy for details.
